I think this was a US provocation to see what Russia would do in the hope of obtaining some ground for criticism of Russia. It failed as most of the US provocative schemes of the US nowadays.Chuck Schumer worded in the Senate that US chose to bring it down themselves. I do not know if that is true. But perhaps they decided to try to hinder Russia getting hold of it in the last minute? Russia had every right to stop this drone.
The U.S. Military has some serious questions to answer. No 1. Why was the transponder of this aircraft turned off ? No 2, this area the aircraft was flying in, was considered a “closed” area, due to the special operations being carried out therein. So what was this aircraft doing, loitering around in a closed area ? No 3, any damage claimed caused by Russian aircraft ,would also show up on the Russian aircraft as well, yet the Russians say, no physical contact had been made. No 4. The transponder of the drone was quit! That means it’s purpose was provacation!
