All of this and without the need for a Reichstag fire! I wish I understood the Italian constitution, since clearly the current set of rogues in power do not represent in any way the manifesto put forward by Five Star and La Lega in 2018. How can such a government have any legitimacy? Why do the Italian people stand for it?

Italians have created a system which makes it all but impossible to impeach a president who is not elected by the Italian people. Mattarella’s term as President ends in January next year. The current pro-EU technocrat government will ensure that a pro-EU and pro-Euro president will be installed at that time for another 7 years.

Only if the current government falls in the interim and new elections result in a Northern League government will this cycle of appointments of pro-EU presidents be broken. This is crucial to enable a future government of Italy to control the country’s destiny.

Hang on a sec there folks. Why the denigration towards Italy ? At the very least, it was their own people who appointed this guy, not some outsider nation like the U.S. who APPOINTED their favorite guy to lead Venezuela, whom the Venezuelan people did not even know, and today HATE for selling them out to the U.S. ? Which is worse, the Italian situation, or the Venezuelan one ?????? Either way, no one can point the finger at Italy if they support the Venezuelan one.
