Yes, Lincoln used the Russians well and it was to their advantage, too. However, one must remember that by 1864, Lincoln had the largest and best trained army and navy in the world. In fact, one of his last acts (after Appomattox) was to send Sheridan to the Mexican Border with fifty-thousand men. Napoleon the Third got the hint fast.
This smug, hyperactive, fast talking bore is so irritating I could only tolerate watching for 5 minutes. I hope he doesn’t return here. He gets a few facts straight but he’s not properly educated yet. He still thinks Hitler was a “fascist”. Fascism per Mussolini, was not based on racial grounds as per Hitler. He seems to take this error, that Hitler was fascist, for granted. A common mistake usually made by those without the benefit of a good education.
