Has US Power Truly Shifted

Six years ago I wrote here that US Power is Waning and the reasons why: Link: https://theduran.com/us-power-is-waning/

Perhaps prescient, for example:

‘Significant too is US ignorance that a political peace plan is needed for Palestine first, before an economic one. By presenting the ‘economic plan’ first, the US leader’s son takes on the persona of Gordon Gecko where only greed is good, and that US-centric greed is especially good.’

[…but of course the author is biased!]

Overall, the Biden regime not only exacerbated pressing issues written about in the above article, but actively worked to subvert the United States by provoking war and conflict all over the world. As such, any shift to some form of realism – regardless by whom — is welcome and needed.

And regardless of Trump’s popular perception – whether negative or positive – it’s clear that a shift in power has somehow occurred, arguably to an anti-Neocon, anti-Globalist agenda, possibly excepting the Israel-Palestine issue.

Leaving aside Adelson’s Zionist question, at least with regard to the US war on Russia, the new regime has managed to avert a nuclear war. And nuclear war was only averted by the patience of Russia’s leadership, and the election of Trump. For that, we must all be grateful.

The prospect of peace anywhere has also exposed Europe’s Bormann Brotherhood direction  which resulted in the establishment of the EU and its ultimate goal of once again militarily confronting Russia in an attempt to seize Russia’s assets and fragment its people. (Unfortunately with regard to financial assets, the EU partially succeeded)

But even Trump skeptics cannot deny that halting support – or threatening to do so — for Biden’s dangerous proxy war with Russia via the Ukraine — has left the European Union’s leadership either furious  or in tears.

Since the Duran’s audience is already well informed, I’ll cut to the quick and state that an apparent change in direction from the US’s perennial pro-war agenda (as manifested for decades by prevailing US Oligarchic Neocons/Neoliberals and especially the Biden regime) has truly alarmed the Blob/ US State / CIA covert allied services, which have directed US foreign policy since the second world war.

However.  Even so, at stake are US trillions in inflationary MMT (Modern Monetary Theory) dollars that the Federal Reserve has championed as fodder to be blown up on battlefields anywhere — and the billions that float Wall Street’s militarist mega-corporations, like Lockheed-Martin and General Dynamics. Although those publicly traded companies have seen their share prices slide somewhat this past month, the financial press is optimistic about defense spending going forward, even if peace breaks out.[1]

The US Warfare State (and economic state) has been arguably successful in pushing its warfare state agenda in actual federal governmental policy terms, since World War Two. So why is that  “failed state” US policy direction prima facie now being challenged? Due to the Ukraine fiasco? – or for that matter Gaza?

The actual point being: why should the US’s ‘failed state policy’ – ie creation of failed or client states which grovel to the US axis for largess and financial crumbs — now be in question? Or even being reversed? Simply due to the accession of Trump to Executive power? In my opinion, many of our Realist commentators such as our gracious hosts here; Brian Berletic, Colonel MacGregor; Larry Johnson and Lawrence Wilkerson, etc have their theories — but to some extent still puzzle over what the coming next four years will bring in regard to the above US foreign policy direction.

In other words, why did such a deeply entrenched and powerful Deep State allow its warfare state agenda to morph and/or be subverted into something else? Due to an exercise of “democracy” in the US? But we know that the US is a plutocracy, so there must be something more at work here — which has left even the EU’s “leaders” either furious, perplexed, or in tears (as above).

Based on reports of actual discussion between world leaders Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, I have a hunch that the US warfare state agenda may have been fatally compromised. The US is putting a brave face on this, but the reality cannot be denied. The West Lost. As the great Michael Parenti once said, “The US lost the Cold War too.. perhaps not as evidently as the Soviets did.”

And seemingly after all these years, some sort of common sense has prevailed in Washington with regard to the potential for nuclear war that existed until recently via the Biden regime. Allied to this realization, is that MMT is a failure when a reserve currency becomes ever more marginalized  with a shrinking percentage of overall trade utilization.

Unfortunately, not all in Washington see the foregoing that way. Neocons and money changers of the temple never give up. Not ever. So it is tough to imagine endeavors to audit the US Treasury’s gold reserves, and attempts to limit wasteful federal government spending being considered, much less actually taking place. That’s because the US plutocracy and its corrupt Oligarchs just profit too much from that, and have been in power for so long.

So what are we truly seeing? The great debate is whether we are witnessing genuine efforts to reform an exceedingly corrupt and perverse US federal government; or whether money, influence, and power are simply being transferred from one group of US Oligarchs to another.

Bottom line though,a result where the US killing and aggression stops — that the US militarist Wall Street establishment has historically brayed for — will be encouraging. When rationality returns to undo at least some of the damage wrought by an exceedingly corrupt, perverse, and unstable Biden regime, it matters not who achieves that.

Perhaps the ultimate question is whether the US’s wars, perennial aggression and killing, can truly be brought to an end by anyone?  Ending the US war on the Ukraine, and Gaza, will be a great start.

[1] Likely because US weapons stocks have been so depleted, new federal government contracts must be issued to increase production to replace weaponry wasted in the Ukraine, and supplied to Israel to destroy Gaza.

I would say that one power group has gone overboard with their craziness and caused a rebellion which transfered the power to a saner and more traditional group.
