Here a some Facts about Haiti. — Haiti gained independence from France 220 years ago, after the Voodoo practising Haitians managed to decimate the Napoleonic forces on the Island with biological warfare, working with diseases such as yellow fever to kill tens of thousands of French soldiers, on the island of Hispaniola. When the Sub-Saharan African Haitians gained independence, the first thing they did, was to carry out a genocide of all the remaining French men, women and children, including those who had been friendly and sympathetic to the Black Haitians.

The proverb, ‘You Reap what you Sow’ is a truism, as 220 years of Sub-Saharan African rule in Haiti, has turned Haiti into a Fourth World failed state, for which they are almost entirely responsible for, as it is a Fiction to blame ‘The White Devil’ for their self-inflicted misery.  Take this factual example (I have many more!)— Haiti is a mountainous country, and for over 200 years now, its people have been cutting down the trees on their mountains without replanting them! Now, when the rainy season comes, brown rivers torrent down the mountain sides, as Haiti’s little remaining… Read more »

According even to the CIA-affiliated website Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haiti_Independence_Debt, France’s extracting from Haiti after its Revolution a “debt removing $21 billion from the Haitian economy.[1][2]” left the former colony so destitute as to cause what had been the most profitable of the New World economies, Haiti, to become destitute, which, of course, might explain why the locals stripped the forests in order not to starve to death. But your consistent blame-the-victim ideology won’t allow you to consider that.

According to even the CIA-affiliated Wikipedia’s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haiti_Independence_Debt, “debt removing $21 billion from the Haitian economy.[1][2] The first annual payment alone was six times Haiti’s annual revenue.[1]” That destituted what had been the most profitable of all the New World (Western Hemisphere) colonies, transforming it into such destitution that in order for the residents to avoid starvation, they stripped the only usable-to-them natural resource, the forests. Your blame-the-victim theory doesn’t take such factors into account.

Of course, all these “facts” are untrue. The white supremacist axe you are grinding is clearly quite dull. For a sharper understanding of the Haitian Revolution read classic “The Black Jacobins: Toussaint L’Ouverture and the Santo Domingo Revolution” by C.L. R. James or the more recent “Avengers of the New World” by Laurent Dubois. Or you could visit The Citadel, the huge fortress built by the ex-slaves on top of a 3,000 foot mountain to (sucessfully) defend their new nation from invasion and re-enslavement by France, Britan or any other opportunistic European power. (It’s now a world historical site.)

If memory serves, when Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State Haiti wanted to increase the minimum wage to something like 65 cents an hour. Hillary intervened and the raise was reversed.
