That sounds really “convincing” after the recent humiliating Afghanistan debacle. The U.S and it’s officials are really out of touch with reality, they are still living in the unipolar bubble of the 90’s.
Taiwan was is always just a pawn of the imperialist US since their proxy army [the ‘Moderate Rebels’ of that time] right-wing Kuomintang + Warlord Leadership fled and invaded occupied + annexed the Island after losing the civil war even with ‘Help’ of the US. Absolutely spot on. Amazing that the FACTS and HISTORIC evidence needs to spelt out in so many words, before people begin to realise the TRUTH on these issues. Fortunately for me, I have a Taiwanese friend, (genuine Taiwanese, not Chinese cowards who got their butts served to them during the Chinese war of independence) who has verified everything you have stated. Also the conscription bit, as well as genuine Taiwanese will more than likely, drop weapons, and turn their backs, should the Shite hit the fan.
