From Now on, Heroes Will Be Called Palestinians

Today, January 27, 2025, humanity bows to the heroism of the Palestinians, civilians and fighters, who in the war against Israel in the Gaza Strip demonstrated and continue to demonstrate unparalleled heroism against an opponent superior in material means. It is this heroism that kept the Palestinian resistance afloat both on the frontline and in the daily life of the war of Palestinian civilians and Israeli prisoners, forcing Israel to sign a ceasefire in order to release, with Hamas’s permission, the prisoners whom Netanyahu failed to free by force of arms.
Throughout the brutal war, Palestinian civilians demonstrated superhuman reserves of patience, perseverance, militancy and solidarity with each other and with the fighters of the Palestinian Resistance of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, elements that kept the front of civilians and fighters steadfast against every means, legitimate and illegitimate, of the Israelis: genocidal hardships, such as famine, thirst, plague, epidemics, lack of shelter, constant violent displacements, etc., tactics aimed at the division of the Palestinians and their exile, the abandonment of their homes in Palestine and their exile to Egypt.
Today, humanity watches with horror the leveling by Israel of most of the buildings and residential infrastructure of the Gaza Strip. In this landscape of leveling, the Palestinians return to rebuild their lives without fear of the difficulties of tomorrow. With surprise and bewilderment, the public opinion of the hypocritical governments of the West sees the Palestinians returning to their demolished homes and living in them again: they put aside the rubble, clean up part of their plot and then set up their tent to start over from scratch. They are not afraid of hardships and deprivations. After all, they learned to live with them in the war under the merciless and inhumane bombardments of the Israeli air force and artillery. Now the ceasefire makes the devastated land seem blooming in the winter of destruction and the death of loved ones.
This year, Spring for the Palestinians came earlier, it came with the ceasefire. It is the Spring of returning to the hearth. It is the Spring of reconstruction. But this Spring will last as long as it takes for the flower of freedom to come, the long-awaited independent Palestinian State. With this war, the Palestinians confirmed and proved once again that they deserve Freedom. They know well that Freedom is earned, not given. And the Palestinians are earning it deservedly with their sword, drop by drop with the blood of their Heroes, their Martyrs. In this war, they outdid themselves with their unparalleled heroism, astonishing the world to such an extent that it is no exaggeration for Greeks, who know what Messolongi and Height 731 means, updating Churchill’s expression, to declare: from now on, heroes will be called Palestinians.
