NATO is making a lot of empty promises in an attempt to strengthen their negotiating position. There is no public support in the US or Europe to spend billions more on this war. The west knows the war is lost, and they are now scrambling trying to bluff Russia in order to gain leverage in the coming negotiations. Ah yes. The ‘truth-averse’ Neocons of Washington want Ukraine to concentrate on the Southern front of the conflict. Could it be that they know that if Odessa and the other coastal ports of the Black Sea and Azov Basins, then most of the trafficking of people, drugs, weapons and so on – every dirty trade that Ukraine runs for it’s US masters – will disappear.
