What an utterly pointless piece of theatre the meetings in Washington were today. If you wanted to achieve true results and use real diplomacy, you would not have all these meetings whilst surrounded by the press corps. I noted that Trump gave out yet another plug for the Nobel Peace Prize by making a comment on the “six conflicts he had mediated on this year”. Apart from that it was all just baloney. When Alex starts talking about films or songs, I’m completely lost. I am not interested in either so I haven’t a clue about his allusions.
Watching this video the day after it was made, it’s obvious that Elensky being told either to wear a suit and tie to the WH or no meeting is fake news. He just added a jacket to his black t-shirt and looked as ignorant of good manners as he usually does.
