Great interview. I just don’t get it why the EU hopes to carry on with the war when europe’s economy and industry has suffered so much from it, via its own sanctions and restrictions on trade. The EU is too ideological for its own good and perhaps pushed by its historic anti-Russia phobia?
The austerity measures never ended and member states aren’t free to elect their own leaders. The EU autocracy in Brussels is a criminal regime and a continued threat to all Europeans.
Re: “pushed by its historic anti-Russia phobia?”
Exactly. A big problem when your “leaders” have their heads buried in the last century.
It is real simple. Kickbacks. Politicians get rich from stealing the taxpayers money and spending it on things that they get kickbacks from. The EU leaders are getting rich off the Ukraine war. Why would they want that to stop?
Why did the Arabs get the oil, and the Irish the potatoes??
Prof Sachs overlooks Chinese theft of IP and its currency manipulation to the benefit of Chinese business. Economic aggression is little different from military aggression. Their economy is unbalanced and mercantilist which is what makes them a threat to the West. Such policies ultimately lead to war if not tempered.
Let’s see ‘mercantilist’ … hmmmm. that sounds familiar… I wonder which european sovereigns invented that beginning about five centuries ago ??
