Ray McGovern: Worry About November

Ray McGovern says not to worry about the tension between Israel and Turkey breaking out into war. Israel’s talk about Turkey is mostly Netanyahu campaign politics, and Erdogan, who could cut off oil exports to Israel is a two-timing bloviator who is not going to offend the United States.

What Ray is most worried about is the November elections: “What Trump has done over the last few months suggests that he does not give a rat’s patootie about the midterms, that he has other plans for the midterms…We have had 250 years of a republic with a pretty good Constitution. That may be coming to an end as we approach November. Trump has his own Brown Shirts, ICE. He’s got governors who would send National Guard troops. I think they are going to mess with the election unless we stand up now, some of us at least, and point out the dangers here.”

I would say that establishment Democrats have been trying just as hard as Trump to rig the elections against Trump. Concerned citizens who want electoral integrity on a non-partisan basis will just have to be as active and vigilant as possible. Fortunately the Israel Lobby scam has been exposed, but we really need campaign finance reform to get private contributions out of elections.
