The US is going to have to begin to act in its own best interests. This is a matter of survival, and something Europe has failed to do. The US needs to cut its ties and commitments to Europe, and to focus on how to form better relations with the countries that will be up and coming in the next century.
The last nation to take on Russia and the USA simultaneously was Nazi Germany.
