Whenever NATO countries are confronted with the reality of losing the Ukraine war to Russia, they respond in two ways: 1. Biden has boasted repeatedly about warning Russia of the dire consequences of Russia attacking any NATO country. 2. Nato countries will assert that Ukraine will eventually join NATO and the E.U. In the first case, the weakness of this threat to Russia, of Biden’s fake tough guy act is only made more obvious. Since the prospect of Ukraine joining NATO was one of the reasons Russia went into Ukraine, the more this is threatening by NATO countries, the more they push Russia further in to Ukraine.

My impression is that the US / EU are stuck on the promises made to Zelenskiy in April 2022 in order for him to reject peace. And Zelenskiy is also stuck on those promises made to him, because rejecting peace has resulted in the catastrophic losses that Ukraïne has suffered since then, and he is personally responsible for this tragic outcome.
