It’s amusing that the USA is doing today exactly what it did in 1939. FDR pulled everyone’s strings. He told Hitler that Germany certainly deserved to get Danzig back, and not to take any nonsense from the Poles. He told the Poles that Germany was bluffing and would not go to war. He persuaded the French and the British to guarantee Poland’s territorial integrity. Then Hitler asked for Danzig, the Poles refused, Hitler invaded, and the French and British declared war on Germany. This could be the moment for a reverse Berlin airlift. Russia, China, Iran, and anyone else who wants to participate could escort tankers trading with Venezuela. It would cost a bit, but it would be well worth to give the USA a bloody nose.
