The Greeks are sending Ukraine their old weaponry but it may take some time to train the Ukrainians how to use them.
I can confirm that the Irish and the British farmers have begun their convoys. The problem is that many of the farmers are coming from Wales and their local government turned the whole of Wales into a 20mph zone, so we are expecting the Welsh convoy to reach London by about the middle of next week. The Irish intend to pelt Leo Varadkar with potatoes and the Scottish farmers may be bringing entire herds of Angus cows with them. It’s going to be fun in London and Dublin fairly soon!
The grain the EU is so hot to distribute are Monsanto grains, going against their own laws on GMOs for human use. I would imagine it is of poor quality coming from a war zone and all.
Clearly none of the EU leadership will be eating any of it. And if the farmers hold strong, neither will anyone else, for that grain is transported by truck and it is a long way to many of the EU markets.
Could it be that Nuland wants to minimise the optics of the US’s direct influence over Ukraïne?
