Stengrh or not is the wrong frame. The relationship will change with great pain or by managing the pain. US cannot accept a chinese mfg dependency. They can have socks and underware, but anything strategic must move back to the US. Besides that, customa aways white.

The discussion about Taiwan almost makes me wonder if there was a effort or an objective of covid to study the US economic impact from disruption in the flow of semiconductors from Taiwan.

There’re so many plausible theories about what covid might have been about that we’ll probably never know. Till, interesting to speculate. Personally, I think, in spite of Occam’s Razor, the likelihood that it was just an accident is almost zero.

The idea China is communist is ridiculous. It is an overt totalitarian govt, with a relatively light touch, while American and Europe/UK are covert totalitarians also with a relatively light touch. There is no reluctance to ratchet up control on anyone’s part. People that live on a fake reality bubble annoy the crap out of me.

The time is right for a deal between the US and Iran.
