It was always Russia’s burden to settle the fate of Ukraine, given that Werstern sponsors of Ukraine, and the puppet state, were incapable of entering and honouring agreements, nor acknowledging the problems stemming from anti-Russian activities of various kinds, including terrorism, murder, repression, deprivation. I dont agree that Russia has not looked into a solution; but actually envisage various possibilities and outcomes, not all within thier control. What if? Not sure why it matters if, after military defeat, the West refuses to negotiate peace and instead sets up a proxy regime pretending to ‘govern’ Ukraine. They did that with Venezuela but it faded into obscurity. Russia’s concern, apart from rebuilding the Donbass and maintaining economic stability and Eastern cooperation, will be boosting counter-intelligence to prevent the West from engaging in more clandestine political interference and terrorism, which is all the Neocons will have left to fight with.
