I like the part about the parakeets. I hope I am wrong, however, WWII caused the US to create a huge military and US industry to increase arms manufacturing. This created, with congress’s help, the military- industrial- complex (m-i-c) Since then the US m-i-c has needed reasons for a bloated military and markets for the arms they create. Wars in Korea, Viet Nam, Yugoslavia etc. followed. Now Russia is expanding her military and has a huge bloom in arms manufacturing. Will the emerging Russian m-i-c foster reasons for their continued existence as the US m-i-c appears to have done?
