A couple of things stood out for me. One is that the US has no coherent response, which is only to be expected because its choice has always been to flail around with a big stick beating and bullying into submission those who have resisted its dictates. It is not coherent because it has never had to learn coherence. The second thing concerns its anger. Really, how dare Russia and China become more powerful! The US only has itself to blame. Thanks, Helga. But I don’t think Alexander approves of censorship. I wish the world would start censoring the lies that are intended to mislead the world instead of suppressing that which may not always be the whole truth in itself but which is intended to get at the truth. I think of some of Shakespeare’s lines: Truth is truth to the end of reckoning. No legacy is so rich as honesty. Honesty is the best policy.
