For those who felt that my last post was filled with conspiracy theories and deviated too far from the official narrative, I found a BBC documentary about Operation Gladio. It explores how the West collaborated with Nazis and used terror tactics against the European population to maintain control and prevent leftist movements from spreading. The West also collaborated with organized crime, utilizing the Mafia and Nazis to exert control and instill fear in Europe.
A relevant source is this document from the Federation of American Scientists (FAS):
A Tangled Web: A History of CIA Complicity in Drug International Trafficking — Institute for Policy Studies — INTELLIGENCE AUTHORIZATION ACT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999 (House of Representatives – May 07, 1998)
INTELLIGENCE AUTHORIZATION ACT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999 (House of Representatives – May 07, 1998) Institute for Policy Studies The Office of Strategic Services (OSS) and the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), the CIA’s parent and sister organizations, cultivate relations with the leaders of the Italian Mafia, recruiting heavily from the New York and Chicago underworlds, whose members, including Charles `Lucky’ Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Joe Adonis, and Frank Costello, help the agencies keep in touch with Sicilian Mafia leaders exiled by Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.
“The Office of Strategic Services (OSS) and the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), the CIA’s parent and sister organizations, cultivated relations with the leaders of the Italian Mafia, recruiting heavily from the New York and Chicago underworlds. Members such as Charles ‘Lucky’ Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Joe Adonis, and Frank Costello helped these agencies maintain contact with Sicilian Mafia leaders exiled by Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. Domestically, the aim was to prevent sabotage on East Coast ports, while in Italy, the goal was to gather intelligence on Sicily prior to the Allied invasions and to suppress the burgeoning Italian Communist Party. Imprisoned in New York, Luciano earned a pardon for his wartime service and was deported to Italy, where he proceeded to build his heroin empire. He started by diverting supplies from the legal market, before developing connections in Lebanon and Turkey that supplied morphine base to labs in Sicily. The OSS and ONI also worked closely with Chinese gangsters who controlled vast supplies of opium, morphine, and heroin, helping to establish the third pillar of the post-World War II heroin trade in the Golden Triangle—the border region of Thailand, Burma, Laos, and China’s Yunnan Province.”
Of course, these facts are not widely known and are often omitted from our official history. I appreciate that the BBC occasionally produces documentaries that reveal these truths, though such documentaries often get buried, forgotten, and not shown to the public. Another example of such a forgotten documentary is one about Pearl Harbor, which argued that the U.S. knew about the attack in advance and allowed it to happen, sacrificing nearly 3,000 of its own citizens to justify entering the war.
Naturally, our school textbooks omit the U.S.’s collaboration with organized crime and Nazis, just as they omit the real facts about Pearl Harbor. This is unsurprising in what often feels like an Orwellian world.
“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
― George Orwell, 1984
For anyone interested in learning more about real history, I recommend “The Devil’s Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of America’s Secret Government” by David Talbot. I am currently listening to the audiobook:
Before we had Kissinger’s and Brzezinski’s The Grand Chessboard, there was Allen Dulles’ The Devil’s Chessboard.
In advance, I just want to say that I am looking forward to the comments regarding The Devil’s Chessboard, especially since it addresses the issue of the Final Solution in Germany, which I know will trigger some people.

Too many conspiracies? We (appear) to live in a realm of mountains made of melted bricks, so… anything is plausible when you see the landscape around you with new eyes.

The UK has spent centuries behaving as a violent bully against nations it didn’t like. Of course the leopard doesn’t change its spots and we see the US has gladly taken all the lessons on board as it now causes mayhem in any country that doesn’t do its bidding. And the list is long.
