AMB Chas Freeman : How the US Lost Geopolitical Primacy

It is looking like Chas Freeman and John Mearsheimer are probably going to be right about Iran getting a nuclear weapon. Israel is determined to destroy Iran by any means necessary, and the Israel Lobby owns President Trump, who talks out of both sides of his mouth and is “agreement incapable”. President Trump is completely responsible for this. I was very disappointed with President Obama, but the JCPOA was the only good thing he did. Trump threw it out for no good reason, just to impress his foolish followers, and also, of course, because Israel wanted him to do so.
We can still hope that Scott Ritter turns out to be right and Iran will rely on Russia and China for deterrence, but I think the odds are pretty good that they will obtain one. The decision is up to the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. I would think that the argument that the Feb 28th attack that killed his father would not have occurred if Iran had already had a nuclear weapon is likely to be persuasive.
