The Brits probably doesn’t want left their drug trafficking operation with the partnering CIA unattended, they both weaponized the drug trade to flood the Rivaling countries with it to destabilze them. The US have shuttled parts of their ISIS mercs/proxies from Syria for some times into Afghanistan to use them against the Taliban because they can’t beat them, US SOF even have freed ISIS fighters from a Taliban Prison, ISIS doesn’t appeared in Afghanistan out of thin air.
They may have to shut down Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo if that opium supply dries up.
Then, besides trying to make Russia pay for the loss of Ukraine’s EU gas transit fees to Europe, they’ll try to force Serbia to pay for the loss of Kosovo’s EU smack transit fees to Europe.

Actually it seems that the much publicized “withdrawal from Afghanistan” is in reality nothing more than the continuation of a trend that has been going on for some time: the replacement of US soldiers by mercenary soldiers- mercenary forces are international, and include US mercenaries, probably British mercenaries, as well as ISIS going by a multitude of names.

This rapid retreat makes no sense given that Biden is a solid neocon. The only theory I can devise is that in a war with Iran, American bases in Afghanistan would be overrun. The Iranians must have plans for this. American bases in Iraq have already been consolidated for security, bases in Qatar are moving to Jordan, and now they are going away in Afghanistan.
