40 million Russians prepare for Nuclear War

More than 40 million people will take part in the nationwide nuclear preparedness exercises in Russia between October 4th and 7th, according to the director of the Department of Civilian Defense, Oleg Manuilo.

More than 200,000 emergency specialists and 50,000 units of equipment will be involved in the exercises.

All civil defence systems will be set to readiness status, and all of the regional municipalities will check communications and medical assistance readiness.

Here are just a few reasons for Russians to be worried:

1. In 2015, the Pentagon considered options “that would improve the ability of U.S. nuclear weapons to destroy military targets on Russian territory,” and U.S. think tank analysts openly suggested preemptive strikes against Russia. According to the former Assistant Treasury Secretary, Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, the United States has plans for nuclear war with America’s rivals: “Washington not only has war plans for launching a preemptive nuclear attack on Russia, and also possibly China, but Washington has a cadre of people who advocate nuclear war. We have people running around Washington saying things such as ‘What’s the good of nuclear weapons if you can’t use them.’”
2. In 2014, the United States sent B-2 stealth bombers to Europe “to show support for NATO allies.” The Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit is a multipurpose stealth bomber designed to deliver nuclear weapons, but it has been used as a conventional bomber in all major U.S. military campaigns, from Afghanistan to Libya. It was first used by the United States during the 1999 war in Kosovo.
3. U.S. vessels occasionally enter the Black Sea, leading to Moscow’s talk of “retaliatory measures.”
4. Six NATO ships staged war games in the Black Sea in 2015, with Russia replying that it will take “necessary countermeasures” in response to the Alliance’s increased presence in the Black Sea.
5. In June 2016, a U.S. guided missile destroyer entered the Black Sea for the first time.
6. NATO jets fly over the Baltic region without turning on their identification devices more often that Russian military aircraft.
7. In July 2016, NATO decided to move four battalions, totaling 3,000 to 4,000 troops, into northeastern Europe – “to defend eastern members against any Russian aggression.”
8. Operation Anaconda in June 2016 was a massive provocation that looked like a dress rehearsal for a NATO invasion of Russia. All the ingredients are present in the eastern Baltic area for an East-West conflict escalating to nuclear weapons use. Although there is nothing to suggest that Russia wishes to invade the Baltics, nor does it make sense for Russia to occupy three countries, the United States and NATO have done everything possible to convince their public that the Baltic states are in danger of Russian invasion. As a result of this invented danger, NATO’s Baltic Deterrent Force is planned to be in place by May 2017.
9. Disagreement on Syria is irreconcilable – Russia wants to help Assad and the U.S. insists, “Assad must go!” The U.S. bombing of the Syrian army in Deir ez-Zor on September 17th was not dismissed in Moscow as a “mistake” but perceived as a deliberate undermining of the Syrian position.
10. Former CIA Director Michael Morell openly called for “killing Russians” in Syria.
11. U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby warned that the collapse of U.S.-Russian cooperation in Syria could lead to a rise in extremism in Russian cities.

The United States and Europe have worked overtime in the last two years trying to convince their citizens of Russia’s “aggressiveness.” Forget about the destruction of the Middle East, unleashed by the United States and its “allies,” the Western media is trying hard to convince its gullible public that the aggressor is Russia, headed by the “evil mastermind” and the scapegoat for every occasion – Vladimir Putin.

Misinformation and outright lies about Russia has become business as usual in the Western mainstream media. Misdirecting attention or blaming Russia for crimes committed by the United States and its allies in the Middle East has reached the United Nations, where recently Samantha Powers referred to Russia’s action in Syria as “barbarism,” not counter-terrorism.

Russian Ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin replied: “In all my years in international life, which is over forty years, I’ve never seen such an extraordinary display of American heavy-handedness as we are witnessing today.”

The accusations of Russia “bombing the humanitarian aid convoy” or of “Russians committing crimes in Syria” are so reminiscent of “WMD in Iraq” or “Assad gassing his own people” that the Kremlin surely takes notice – any U.S. military action to overthrow a foreign leader started with the vilification of that leader. And don’t we know by now how evil the Russian leader is? Just turn on CNN – you will find out!

According to the main mouthpiece of the U.S. State Department, The New York Times, Russia is an “outlaw state,” evidently, because it dares to fight ISIS in Syria. For doing so, The New York Times calls for more sanctions on Russia.
