Mr Tusk may conceivably be able to declare war on Russia, although I would like to think the Polish legislature should have some say in the matter. But he certainly cannot commit “the West” to war. For a start, no one has defined exactly what “the West” is. The big question is: does “the West” include the USA? If so, what does Mr Trump think about Mr Tusk declaring war on Russia on behalf of the USA?
I certainly hope that national laws take precedence over the authoritarian, unelected EU.
