“A detailed and frank exchange of views”…!
It used to be understood that “a full and frank exchange of views” meant physical blows.
With all the talk about Ukraine, some critical issues are slipping under the radar. Trump has now said that, in addition to owning Ukraine’s rare earth minerals, he wants the US to own Ukraine’s energy facilities — its electrical supply and nuclear power plants. Of course, the US will eventually have to provide “protection” for these facilities, meaning boots on the ground or military bases…right on Russia’s border.
Re: have to provide “protection” for these facilities
Protection against whom or what? A military attack?
which Russia will never permit, and rightfully so. All Russia wants is a neutral buffer zone between it and the US military.
The power stations in Kursk and Zaporozhye are both in Russia, so they’re out of the reach of the Ukies (and the US).
When Trump said he was trying to stop the world from killing itself, he really was right.
Thanks to western leaders, Russian men are now infinitely stronger fighters of real wars, while western men are being imprisoned for saying nasty words.
The only way the west could ever destroy Russia is, if by magic, we somehow swapped all their politicians for ours.
See you tommorow, fearsome warriors.
Unfortunately, Putin did give away much the minute he agreed to allow the US to be a negotiator, rather than seeing it as a co-belligerent. As a negotiator, the US keeps the focus on Ukraine and Russia, and doesn’t have to entertain any concessions on its part. So the US is free to deal with Ukraine for its minerals, and now claims it will also “own” Ukraine’s energy sector. Once the US owns Ukraine’s energy facilities it will have to provide “protection” for those facilities, meaning boots on the ground and US military bases…right on Russia’s border.
