Baerbock strikes me as a quintessential unidimensional ideologue parachuted into a position for which she has no experience, qualification, or even the slightest idea of its gravamen. Her sole focus seems to be the old Green policy of shutting down NS2 and the use of natural gas in Germany. The effects of this policy on German homes, industries, and employment seem either to escape her completely or to be overridden by the Green ideology of “Fossil Fuels Bad, Industry Harmful to the Earth”. Germany has gone completely nuts in every possible way. When the EU breaks up, germany will be left with 1 billion of euros in their target-2 balance they will never get back. And the french and italians will laugh their way out of the Euro.
This may very well be the end of the german nation. Göterdämmerung one might call it, or rather suicide by stupidity.
That would be hundreds of billions of euros.
I lived in Germany in 2019 and I can only agree with your assessment. I can’t imagine how bad it would be now.
I think it’s pretty obvious what Baerbock was up to a few weeks back in denouncing further US sanctions, essentially telling the US to butt out of her own plans to torpedo NS2.

If I was in charge of Russia I would shut every pipe line entering the EU. There is a huge market in China and most of the East’ which would gladly take all that Russia could produce and probably would enter in to long term contracts which would benefit all concerned’ stuff the EU
The Germans are so dominated by the USA that they cannot even take care of their own needs: cheap gas and oil from Russia. What a shame.
So if Russia follows through with attacks on nearby NATO installments on January 8th then the withdrawal of diplomats is already in place for military escalation.
