Apparently Washington has decided that Russia, China, and Iran are “too big a boo”. So they are trying to bully Venezuela.
It seems to me that Russia and China have good reason to support Venezuela.

Aicraft carriers are a liability in modern warfare. Relatively slow, poor maneouverability and massive heat signature. The Houthis in Yemen have shown how drones can seriously damage an aircraft carrier. Modern fighter jets have the capability to refuel in the air and travel vast distances, they don’t need to be carried there by a huge ship. Submarine warfare is the future of naval warfare. The Russians have the intelligence to see this.
