After initial interest I did some research. This isn’t what people are believing it is. These are grey wolves whose genome has been altered to appear to be dire wolves. No actual 10,000 year old dire wolf DNA was used in the physical process to create these animals. They mapped the ancient dire wolf DNA and then altered some characteristics of the grey wolf DNA to resemble that of the dire wolf.
