Understanding Hitler

The three distinguishing features of Hitler’s ideology — the nazism which he embodied in his Nazi political Party — were: 1. racism; 2. racial supremacism; and 3. imperialism. Racism is a commitment to unequal rights for different ‘racial’ groups; Racial supremacism is a commitment to “our” ‘race’ having rights that no other ‘race’ has; and Imperialism is a commitment to winning and keeping control over foreign lands (this is a natural consequence of racial supremacism). But what was actually especially frightening about Hitler’s ideology, is that, unlike Japan’s version (for example), which never aspired to extend its empire over the entire world, but instead viewed itself as being only a regional empire, Hitler’s vision was for Germans to take over ultimately the entire world (as I shall document here). This aspiration was indicated not only in his 1925 book Mein Kampf, but even more so in his 1928 unpublished Second Book, as well as in his speeches, etc., and (most of all) in his last order to the German people on the day before his suicide.

For example, his Second Book clearly implied that the last nation for Germany to conquer would be America, which he feared more than any other. In its chapter 9 he said “Whatever the German element individually accomplishes in North America, it will not be reckoned to the benefit of the German Folk as such, but adds to the cultural aggregate of the American Union. Here the Germans are really only the cultural fertilisers for other Folks. Indeed, in reality, the greatness of these nations is, in general, not seldom to be ascribed to the high percentage of German contributions and accomplishments.” He believed that America was great because of its many Germans. This powerfulness of America meant that a conquest of America would be the capstone to Germany’s final victory; it would convert those “German contributions and accomplishments” to the benefit of his “home” country, Germany itself. And, referring to Europeans’ attempts “to realise the Pan European idea, … it would never be possible thereby to create a structure which could bear up against the American Union. In the future, only the State which has understood how to raise the value of its Folkdom and to bring it to the most expedient State form for this, through its inner life as well as through its foreign policy, will be able to face up to North America.” (He was saying that even all of Europe would lose in a war against America.) This might-makes-right Fuehrer clearly respected and feared America. He even said: “One can just as little equate the accomplishment of one thousand racially questionable Europeans to the capacity of one thousand racially highly valuable Americans. Only a conscious Folkish race policy would be able to save European nations from losing the law of action to America, in consequence of the inferior value of European Folks vis–à–vis the American Folk.” He attributed America’s ‘racial’ ‘superiority’ to America’s racist beliefs, and to those beliefs being applied in rigorous selectivity of whom to accept, and whom to reject, to be admitted as new immigrants, new Americans. He admired what he viewed as the selectivity of the U.S. Government’s immigration policies. Americans were commonly racist, and Hitler thought that this was one of the reasons why Americans were superior to Europeans.

In his Political Testament, transcribed by Martin Bormann from Hitler in the bunker on 29 April 1945, the day before the Fuehrer’s suicide, Hitler’s final words were: “Above all, I charge the leaders of the nation and those under them to scrupulous observance of the laws of race and to merciless opposition to the universal poisoner of all peoples, international Jewry.” His phrase “international Jewry” meant Jews in all nations. He said that they were “the universal poisoner of all peoples” — NOT only of European peoples. Obviously, this included Jews in America. The only logical interpretation of this is that Hitler’s obsessive goal included extermination of all Jews everywhere, including in the U.S. He was still hoping that the extermination would become somehow completed, even after his own suicide. Also obviously, that goal was impossible to achieve — entirely unattainable — without first conquering the U.S. Government, which Hitler had considered to be the last conquest that would be needed in order to win WW2. He was so fanatical about this global extermination of Jews, that this order was his final order, right before he committed suicide.

Consequently, anyone who alleges that Hitler intended to exterminate ONLY Europe’s Jews is contradicting what ALL of the relevant and conclusive evidences from Hitler himself consistently and clearly display. There is no ambiguity about this intention on his part. He tried to hide this ultimate intention — his supreme objective — for as long as he could (because he didn’t want the world to know what his ultimate objetive was); but, right there in his final command, he said it directly because he knew that he would no longer continue to be alive to be the Leader overseeing the completion of this job — what had been his ultimate intention. This commandment from him in his final words was his “Hail Mary pass” in his desperate message to his nation, right before he killed himself. Any ‘historian’ who asserts that Hitler wasn’t obsessed to slaughter ALL Jews, everywhere, is asserting what is, on the basis of all of the relevant and decisive evidence, CLEARLY false. And implicit in that intention of his is that his war-aim (exterminating all Jews) necessarily included that his Third Reich would conquer ALL countries. For him, winning WW2 was his necessay means toward his ultimate objective of achieving a Jew-free world — he knew that he couldn’t achieve it without conquering every enemy nation.

My 2001 book (now out-of-print) WHY the Holocaust Happened: Its Religious Cause & Scholarly Cover-Up, explains, in Hitler’s own words (and supplemented by other relevant evidences), WHY he had this obsession, and why he demanded its fulfillment even when his generals were pleading with him to stop it because they desperately needed those trains to be carrying troops and weapons to the front, and NOT sending civilians to extermination-camps. Hitler was a monomaniac, and confided only to a few of his closest subordinates (and only personally, and in private — for example, on 21 October 1941, Hitler, in the privacy of his bunker, concluded a long tirade against Jews (as transcribed in his Table-Talk): “By exterminating this pest, we shall do humanity a service of which our soldiers can have no idea” — no idea of what his ultimate objective actually was. And then at his very end, he emphasized that this must be done without ANY sympathy for their victims, he ordered: “merciless opposition to the universal poisoner of all peoples.” It was to be “merciless.”

Although some of the world’s leading authorities on Hitler, WW2, and the Holocaust, privately praised to me my book on the subject, none, when I asked whether I could quote that to a prospective publisher as an endorsement of it, said yes. When I asked why, I got no answer, except that one of them said “Doing that might hurt my career.” The problem with this book isn’t that anything in it is false, but that all of it is too true. People who wonder why certain things aren’t being publicly said, or reported, ought to understand that this is how the world actually works. It really is. It’s not the way people are taught to expect, and even to assume, it works. It’s more like the opposite. Especially on important matters.
