Because they a;;ow the Ukr’s to keep their troops in Eastern Ukr supplied, and hence draw all the weapons, all the soldiers, etc into the Donbas where the Russians can destroy them. That keeps the Russian supply-lines as short as possible, and the Ukr supply lines as long as possible.

demilitarise Ukr;
demilitarise NATO.
