It’s too early to tell, but I can imagine China coming forth with a solution, considering that its Silk Road (by land) goes through Istanbul, which means it has an interest in the stability of that city and country. While Russia can’t afford to alienate Turkey because it needs access by sea, China can’t allow Turkey to become another colony for Western powers because of the Silk Road, which is very important for China.

Turkey before anything else needs to free itaelf from western poison meaning out of Davos and out of the IMF. Moving towards the GCC is the right decision.

I agree with the first half of your statement, that Turkey needs to free itself from western poison, out of Davis and the IMF. However, it can’t accomplish that and at the same time move towards the GCC. Remember that the Saudi royals are part of the Evil Troika. Erdogan’s greatest weakness is that he thinks he can play both sides at the same time. In the end it will lead to his downfall. As things are shaping up, he can’t have his cake and eat it, too. What if the compensation came in the shape of government bonds? Would that make any sense with China/SCO countries backing a series of collective major industrial projects? What I find most interesting as well as puzzling is the Bayraktar drone affair with Ukraine: does that somehow work for Turkey to gain some form of leverage with the Ukrainian government about the ongoing crisis?
