It’s very hard to believe that someone as intelligent and experienced as Mr Putin, raised in the tough streets of Leningrad, then trained by the KGB, is naive or unaware of how the criminal mind works.

Whatever makes you think that Putin is naive or unaware of how the criminal works. After all this time, even an idiot would have figured it out, and Putin is no idiot – far from it.

I agree with Mr Mercouris’ perceptive comments about “cauldrons” (Kessel). Some apparently small technical changes since WW2 or Korea have led to very great changes in strategy. When a WW2 army established a cauldron, it did so by extending “arms” around an enemy force and eventually surrounding it altogether. Then infantry “combed” the pocket to find and kill or capture the surrounded troops. Today this simply would not work. Ground forces that advance too far and too fast are extremely vulnerable to attack by drones, which eat tanks – let alone APCs – for breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner. Therefore… Read more »

I’m not so sure that an attack on a chemical plant would be a “war crime”. What about WW2, when the Allies dropped nuclear bombs on two cities, and deliberately created firestorms to destroy others such as Tokyo, Dresden, and Hamburg? Those attacks destroyed everything – presumably worse than releasing some chemicals.

As of today, “Biden”‘s people have only six days to wreak havoc. They are anxious to leave their mark – to hand Mr Trump a large hot potato, and also to hurt the Russians out of sheer spite. Even the complete failure of the attacks will, in a month or so, be blamed on Mr Trump even though they happened before his inauguration.

The US government’s “sanctions” do not have any force of law; indeed they themselves are completely illegal. Anyone trying to enforce them will be guilty of piracy.

Unfortunately, Germany will not be able to get rid of the windmills until it has restored suitable alternative energy sources.

Amusingly, the AfD can be seen as a rebuttal of Mrs Thatcher’s cry “There is no alternative”.

If Trump were half as smart as he thinks he is, I would feel relieved. It’s not up to Trump alone how the war ends. The war was not started by Putin, it was started by the West, starting with Nuland and ending up with Zelensky, both working for the US. Putin has been ahead of the opposition during this war, so it’s up to the US/West, Zelensky how it ends. Accept Putin’s conditions. They are very reasonable.

It is up to Putin, Trumps not lying. Trump and America get out of the way 100% in Ukraine and then it’s up to Putin to finish the Ukraine job. That ‘up to Putin’ statement paved the way for Trump to back out of Ukraine. Trump can also blame the whole mess on Obama and Biden for good optics as well.

China, India and China could establish sea convoys to ship and receive oil to their countries. Armed escorts. NATO blocking the Baltic Sea is simply an act of war. Apparently the US UK EU thing their navies are greater than their armies. Sorry but do not see Trump learning much on the real Ukraine situation as he is surrounded by neocons. It appears Trump thinks Putin will beg him to save Russia who is losing … that is why Putin wants to talk. It remains 50/50 Trump starts WWIII in his first 100 days. We shall see.

RUTTE, more money to NATO or learn Russian. Poland, cut Russian LNG. Meloni to Trump, keep war going
