The US has no real friends but only friends of convenience that it abandons as soon as they are no longer of any use to it. Its hallmarks are untrustworthiness, duplicitousness and lying.
Trump has been unable to force US oil companies to cut pump prices yet have record profits. A dollar cut at the pump would pay for all the tariffs. Russia oil back in the market would pay for all the tariffs. Even if restricted to the Global South. FYI, the cost of US fertilizer to farmers tripled due to the EU Ukraine war. It’s a brave new world and America is charting the way.
The world is sucking the economic life out of the USA. Insolvency and bankruptcy are just around the corner.
Tarrifs are a bad idea. Tolerating tarrifs is suicidal. Trump must fix this by fighting tarrifs with tarrifs.
My expectation is the ridiculous rhetoric will stop and honest negotiations will start. Failing this world trade will come to a standstill and we’re all toast.
