If Mr Hegseth claimed that this was the first ship sunk by a submarine since WW2, he lied. “General Belgrano” was sailing towards the Falklands combat zone – and it certainly wasn’t unarmed.

The USA started this conflict to generate a rift between Russia and the rest of Europe, especially to cut the latter off of Russian gas. Is Putin acquiescing to the US and its stranglehold on Europe? Or has the decision not been made yet?
