I’m afraid I can’t agree with your commentary on the Bosnian crisis at all. Two particular points: 1 The Serb population of Bosnia was nowhere near 70% – according to both the 1895 and the 1910 censuses the Orthodox (i.e. Serbs) constituted 43% of the population. One can only get up to 70% by adding in the local Muslims as well who were no-more pro-Russian than they were pro-Austrian. Mordechai Gershkovich Bogrov (Мордехай Гершкович Богров) was born into a family of Jewish merchants in Kiev. He was an anarchist revolutionary, and probably also an agent of the Okhrana, the secret police of the Russian Empire, since 1906. One of his motives for killing Stolypin was the Tsarist regime’s rampant antisemitism, although Stolypin himself was certainly not an antisemite. However, he paid for the Tsarist antisemitic policies with his life. It is notable that a high percentage of the Bolsheviks, who killed the last Tsar and his family, in 1918, were of Jewish origin.
