Starmer may have deluded himself into thinking that Trump and MAGA are just a passing phase, and that soon he will wake up and find the Woke are in charge again. So he is proving himself the One Who Is Faithful In Adversity.
To put it another way, Starmer reminds me of a man I used to know at work. His three trays were labelled “In”, “Out”, and “Too Hard”.
For Starmer, it seems to me, everything domestic related to the UK is simply “Too Hard”. So he tries to stay in the world of international meetings, where one can say almost anything and never have to back up words with deeds.
