Spot the pattern: Obama and Merkel discuss Ukraine (caused by US coup) and EU migrants (caused by US bombing of Libya and Syria)

We wonder if, during that phone conversation, Merkel had the balls to tell the teleprompter president that it was his bonehead foreign policy initiatives that have lead to both the Ukraine crisis and the EU migrant problem.

If Merkel were a real leader she would have said something along the lines of this to Obama…

“Barack, what were you thinking when you overthrew the Ukraine government. You spent $5 billion to try and capture Crimea and remove Putin from power, only to blow up an entire nation sitting right on our doorstep, and fill it with crazy neo-nazis.

And talking about blowing up countries…thanks a lot for bombing the hell out of stable and secular Syria and Libya, which is now causing thousands of refugees to flood into Germany.”

Then again…if Merkel had the backbone to simply not follow the US down such a failed path, then both Ukraine and EU migrants would not be an issue.

With this regard, Europe deserves all the misery it now faces, while America remains unaffected, thousands of miles away.

“President Obama noted Ukraine’s progress in implementing its obligations under the Minsk agreements,” the White House said in a Wednesday statement.

During Merkel’s Wednesday phone conversation with Obama, the US President “also expressed his appreciation of the Chancellor’s leadership in working to address the migration crisis in Europe, in particular her recent decision to ease the burden on border countries by providing haven to Syrian refugees.”

Last week, German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said that up to 800,000 asylum seekers and refugees from conflict-torn countries in the Middle East and North Africa are expected to arrive in Germany by the end of the year. This is three times as many as in 2014.

Merkel announced on Wednesday that German authorities would introduce amendments to the country’s legislation by October in order to improve conditions for hosting refugees.
