Demand for a product and its price usually go hand in hand. I am just guessing here, but it may have something to do with new companies using shipping containers to build small homes/ADUs with them which are much cheaper than traditionally built homes, and it is likely that there will be a huge market for them as the scaled back way of life working class Americans will have to deal with. The new normal to come? Also possibly a way to deal with the mass homeless crisis?
