We have heard a lot of scare stories about how dangerous it is to rely on Russian gas. After all, the Russians might cut it off, or threaten us with doing so. Admittedly, they have never done either of those things since the USSR began supplying gas in 1946. That’s 80 years, right through the whole of the Cold War, without even one tiny little threat.
