Russia’s economic growth amounted to 1.7 percent in the first eight months of 2017, the Economic Development Ministry said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – “After a short-period slowdown in July, GDP growth rates in August again reached a level in excess of 2 percent,” the Ministry said in a monthly report.

“GDP growth increased to 2.3 percent in August year-on-year, while the GDP growth for the eight months amounted to 1.7 percent year-on-year,” the report said.

According to the ministry, the main contribution to the acceleration of GDP growth in August was made by agriculture and industry.
