According to eyewitnesses, the murderer shouted at others to get out as he shot at the Russian ambassador in a plainly targeted attack.
Andrey Karlov was attending an art exhibition in Ankara celebrating Turkish depictions of Russian scenes. The attack took place just as the ambassador was about to give his speech.
