I see that as a positive sign for Russia. If Russians were unhappy and despairing the way many in the West are, alcohol consumption would go up. Happy people have no need to drown their sorrow and despair in alcohol. Good for Russia.

The text of the article above says “… and alcohol consumption and exports rose.”, the direct opposite of the headline that claimed alcohol consumption dropped.
