Alexander’s take on shell production’s price in Russia looks an inteligent and very well thought one, and i would only add a point that was not in the program, but i think endorses more yet what he had said. Figures about shell production numbers or prices inside Russia are not easy to get indeed, but figures about the percentual spending in Russia’s military, compared to the american one, is orders of magnitude lower. Besides, the military complex in russia is a government-owned one, and charge something like a fifth of the prices usa practices for the same type of product.
As always alexander has nailed it.
I would take Alexander’s insights a little bit further by suggesting that in time China will turn Russia into an industrial China the way the US turned China into an industrial China.
It is my understanding that titanium is what the Russians substitute for DU.
Russia’s military industry is in part controlled by the state. They are meant to serve the military not just their own bottom lines. Price gouging and earmarks aren’t part of their defense budget.
