In just the same way as in Russia, France has traditionally seen a massive summer exodus from the Paris area to the Cote d’Azur. Some naive foreign tourists have been heard to complain that they found Paris almost empty.
Although that may not be quite so true now that Paris is full of foreign invaders who came there to get away from the sun.
