If Perimeter (aka “Dead Hand”) launched a counter-strike, I doubt if it would be limited to the USA. All of NATO would get it in the neck.
From the US perspective, a missile war that is contained to Russia and Europe, would be a win for the US.
If the Evil Politicians in America are keen on a nuclear exchange with Russia then they must have a bolt hole somewhere all set up for themselves to not only survive but thrive after a nuclear war.
I wouldn’t say we are “drifting” back to the 1960’s in terms of nuclear/ military expansion.
I would say we are Sprinting !
