“we are long past the time when rationality in European policy went out the window” I hate to say this but Sir John Glubb, in his book “The Fate of Empires” published in 1976, which was the result of his study of why all of the previous empires had fallen, stated that a big indicator that an empire was in decline was when women became influential in the conduct of power. Europe needs to eat less chicken?
Plausible.
re: “women do not grow up in the world of hard knocks” I beg to differ. I, now retired, grew up in a world of hard knocks. As a single mom, I had to work two jobs to make ends meet because women at that time were paid less than men, even men with less education and experience.
If I were European and objectively trying to assess this situation, I’d not be attributing the extreme, irrational-appearing behavior toward Russia as mere “hatred.”
Something far more important to all of Europe, beyond imo mere speculation or fear about future security, is driving this behavior. I also do not attribute it to mass leadership personality disorder.
If I were an ordinary European, I’d look at this situation and conclude there are dark times ahead, probably of a financial nature, and I’d just pack my bags and get out. The dragons are about to wreak havoc on Europe.
Europe is not being driven by hatred of Russia, they are being driven by desperation. Europe is financially bankrupt, and cannot survive without additional financing that they have no collateral to secure. If they lose the war, the EU will colapse, and most of its members will have an economic crisis, and public revolutions.
