I may be pedantic but why is this word ‘picks’ appearing everywhere? People used to be appointed, selected, etc. There are ice picks, there is picking a scab (but that’s a verb), so let’s get back to the proper words. It seems as the English vocabulary is shrinking by the day. Once again trying to mind-read Trump’s choices. He has been playing his cards close to his chest, but every commentator (and The Duran disappoints me) has his or her idea. I thought the majority of the mineral resources were to be found in the provinces that are now part of Russia, so I can’t see how this idea could work. Anyway tinkering around with ‘plans’, which are basically dreams, is not going to make any difference. Putin set out the conditions in 2022 and they haven’t changed since then.
The US needs to go back home, sort out its own country, and leave the people who have a stake in the future of Ukraine to sort things out.
