Putin’s Forever War – Part 35 of the Anglo-American War on Russia

The war in Ukraine grinds on with Russian forces advancing slowly everywhere. Eventually the frontline will collapse and the much larger Russian army will roll forth and across the mighty Dnieper River. This has taken years because Russian President Vladimir Putin is not interested in winning quickly.

The Russian people want a quick victory, but their army continues small local attacks in two dozen areas. In most cases, they could bypass small cities, but conduct frontal attacks to slowly capture each city. Everyone is puzzled by this lack of a basic military strategy of concentrating forces to bypass strongpoints to cut off supplies to entire regions.

Putin’s slow grind may soon yield a victory anyway because Ukraine now lacks high-altitude air defense. The Ukrainians wasted most of their expensive Patriot missiles trying to shoot down Russian Iskander missiles with just a 4% success rate. Missiles are much smaller than aircraft, more difficult to damage, and fly five times faster. Ukraine also wasted Patriots to shoot down small, cheap Russian drones, so has no Patriots left for aircraft defense. As a result, Russian aircraft now blast the Ukrainians with hundreds of bombs each day.
