There has been a tsunami today on social media of westerners mocking the Russian elections and trying to debunk the standard of living in Russia. I say to them – look at your dirty, litter festooned and crime ridden streets. Look at, as is the case in Nicosia, the empty shops, the desolate town centres, the lack of jobs, the high cost of food and necessities.
