You’re being far too kind in saying that Trump is “drifting” towards confrontation. Anyone who at any time was ever serious about putting an end to this would have already long ago done so. He has no intention of stopping. He’s too arrogant and narcissistic to do otherwise. Best to get ourselves ready for the inevitable.
